The LDoC contains a list of evidence requirements. The government guidance gives further information on the documents that can be provided in support of the information you include in the completed DLoC itself. Examples are as follows:
A utility or council tax bill in your name at 14 th February 2022 confirming that the property was your main home.
A copy of the Land Registry’s title for your property, detailing the current ownership and specifying the last sale date. This document may also confirm the last sale price, also needed as part of the process.
If the Land Registry Title does not specify the last sale price, you will need to supply a copy of the sale contract , or formal confirmation from your conveyancer at the time of sale. This could include perhaps a completion statement evidencing the price you paid for your property.
If you are a shared ownership leaseholder, a copy of the shared ownership lease must be supplied to confirm this basis of ownership. Also, the contract between yourself and the Housing Association (or other immediate landlord), or documentation relating to that must be supplied. This is to confirm the percentage share owned at 14 th February 2022.
